The Delaware Public Archives welcomed Gov. John Carney, Deputy Secretary of State Kristopher Knight and other friends and supporters of the DPA on Feb. 20 to the unveiling of the expansion of the exhibit “The Great War & The First State.”
The expansion focuses on African-American Delawareans during that time and details some of the 1,400 African-American soldiers who served during World War I.
Carney presented the ceremonial proclamation that proclaims February 2018 as Black History Month to the state archivist for inclusion in the official collection.
The exhibit is located in the Exhibit Galleries of the Delaware Public Archives, 121 Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd, Dover, and will be open through the end of the year.
