The Delaware American Heart and Stroke Association welcomed David Morris as the state’s new executive director.
Morris will lead all fundraising efforts for the entire state and will oversee the Heart Ball, Heart Walk and Go Red for Women initiatives, as well as community and volunteer outreach.
Morris began his professional career with MBNA America in 2001. He went on to work at the University of Delaware in their Office of Development and Alumni Relations in 2006, where he held various positions in which he raised more than $20 million.
Morris held the position of assistant vice president for development at Delaware Technical Community College from 2015 to present, during which time he helped the college increase its annual fundraising from $2 million to $5 million.
Morris earned his bachelor’s degree in marketing from Millersville University and holds an Master of Business Administration from the Lerner College of Business at the University of Delaware.
“I am proud to join The American Heart Association in Delaware and look forward to helping raise awareness of heart disease and health issues in our community,” said Morris.
