Police say their investigation revealed that the USAF Reservist impregnated a 14-year-old.

The Delaware State Police have arrested a Camden Wyoming man following an investigation into an alleged sexual abuse complaint.

The investigation began on Dec. 19 when the Troop 3 Major Crimes Unit received information through a DFS 24-hour hotline that a 14-year-old female had reported allegations of sexual abuse.

The hotline report indicated the victim had been impregnated by an adult male. Through further investigations, it was confirmed that the 14-year-old victim was pregnant and she disclosed that the father of the child was 34-year-old Byron P. White of Camden Wyoming. Detectives further discovered that the victim had been in an active sexual relationship with White since May of 2017. The incidences were reported to have occurred at White's residence located in the 3000 block of Henry Cowgill Road.

Investigation revealed that White was a United States Air Force Reservist and was serving on orders at DAFB.

According to a press release from Dover Air Force Base, White, a Staff Sgt., is a reserve loadmaster assigned to the 709th Airlift Squadron, 512th Airlift Wing, an Air Force Reserve Command unit located at Dover AFB. He has been in both active and non-active status throughout the time period of allegations.

An arrest warrant was obtained for White in which he was subsequently taken into custody at DAFB on Tuesday, Feb. 13. White was transported back to Troop 3 where he was charged with nine counts of rape 3rd and continuous sexual abuse of a child. He was arraigned out of the Justice of the Peace Court 2 and committed to the James T. Vaughn Correctional Center on $200,000 secured bond.

Because of the sensitivity of this case, and in consideration of the victim, only limited information will be released.
