The Delaware State Police have arrested a Lincoln man in connection with multiple burglaries.
Delaware State Police Troop 3 and Troop 4 Property Crimes Unit recently completed a month-long joint investigation into multiple burglaries, including a burglary committed on Jan. 1, at King's Tire and Lube at 955 Bay Road in Milford in which more than $5,000 in tires were stolen. Through investigative measures, 36-year-old Michael A. Cole, of Lincoln, was developed as a suspect, which led him to the connection of multiple other burglaries.
It was later discovered that Cole was transporting stolen property to a residence located in the 1400 block of Vernon Road in Harrington. A search warrant was executed at the Vernon Road address resulted in the recovery of property valued at $17,535. The property included a Honda ATV, two wood splitters, EZ GO golf cart, 15 Adirondack chairs, seven wood-carved bar stools, a wood-carved fisherman, dolphin and pelican, 10 motor vehicle tires, six golf cart batteries and five Dewalt power tools.
On Friday, Feb, 9, at around 9:30 a.m., the Troop 3 Criminal Investigative Unit executed a search warrant at Cole's residence in the 14000 block of Staytonville Road in Lincoln, where he was taken into custody without incident.
Cole was charged with second-degree burglary, seven counts of third-degree burglary, six counts of criminal mischief, seven counts of criminal trespass, 10 counts of theft, three counts of theft of a motor vehicle, five counts of selling stolen property, possession of burglary tools and two counts of second-degree conspiracy. He was committed to James T. Vaughn Correctional Center on $53,550 secured bond.
