Morning commute may be slippery
A mix of light rain and snow is expected to develop overnight from Tuesday into Wednesday (Jan. 16 to Jan. 17) in Delaware, the National Weather Service said in its update at 4 p.m. today.
Tomorrow (Jan. 17), the mix of light rain and snow will continue through the morning hours before diminishing. Slippery travel conditions are possible, including during the morning commute, the weather service said.
Previously, the weather service predicted an all light snow event with accumulations of up to one inch.
In the latest forecast, an accumulation figure isn’t mentioned, but the weather service says slippery conditions may develop on untreated roads by tomorrow morning’s commute, especially northwest of I-95.
The Hazardous Weather Outlook remains in effect for the entire state of Delaware, northeast Maryland, all of New Jersey, and southeast Pennsylvania.
