Fire occurred in Villages at Red Mill Pond
A house fire in Lewes Monday morning sent several people to the hospital.
The blaze, reported shortly before 10 a.m., occurred in the 22000 block of Preserve Drive in the Villages of Red Mill Pond. Firefighters arrived on the scene to find flames engulfing the dwelling.
Two people who were inside the house were taken to Beebe Hospital for treatment of smoke inhalation. A 73-year-old male occupant was admitted to the Crozer Medical Center in Upland, Pennsylvania in stable condition.
State fire investigators continue to search for the origin and cause of the fire. Damage was estimated at $300,000.
