The city of Milford tree-lighting ceremony is set for 5 p.m. Nov. 25 at Milford City Hall, 201 S. Walnut St.

The Milford Central Academy Chorus will lead a community holiday singalong as residents and visitors gather in front of city hall as the town prepares to turn on the holiday lights in downtown Milford, starting with the two holly trees in front of city hall.

Nov. 25 is Shop Small Business Saturday and the first Saturday of the Downtown Milford Santa House. Downtown businesses will be open all day Saturday so shoppers can begin their holiday shopping in the stores and galleries of downtown Milford. Santa and Mrs. Claus will open the Santa House from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Mayor Bryan Shupe is encouraging those who attend the tree lighting to bring a nonperishable food item to benefit the Food Bank of Delaware.
