The Milford Police Department welcomed two new staff members to the team during the month of August.

Jennifer Darlin was hired as a full-time dispatcher for the police department. Darlin has served in the U.S. Air Force Reserves for the past 11 years and was previously a 911 dispatcher for the Delaware State Police.

Larry Simpkiss was hired to assume the role of the department's terminal agency coordinator, evidence technician and crime scene investigator. He previously served the city of Dover as a sworn police officer for the past 21 years before retiring and coming to work for the Milford Police Department. During his time at Dover, he was a patrol officer, detective, accident reconstructionist, emergency vehicle operator instructor, field training officer, background investigator, crime scene investigator and evidence technician.

In 2009, Simpkiss attended the National Forensic Academy in Knoxville Tennessee, and, after graduating from the program, obtained his certified crime scene analyst certification from the International Association of Identification.

Darlin and Simpkiss were introduced to the Milford City Council on Sept. 11.
