The People’s Place Center for Community Justice will offer a four-day basic mediation training from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Nov. 2-3 and 8-9 at the Milford Senior Center, 111 Park Ave.

This training will lay the groundwork for anyone interested in becoming a mediator or enhancing their conflict resolution skills. During the training, participants will explore questions like:

— What is mediation and how does it compare to other forms of alternative dispute resolution?

— What are the core skills needed to be an effective mediator?

— What are the foundational values of mediation?

— What is the role as a mediator?

— What makes a successful mediation?

Through group discussion, hands-on exercises, lecture and roleplay, participants will have the opportunity to engage with these questions. Participants who complete the training will gain valuable mediation skills that can be immediately applied in personal and professional settings.
