Some fun First State events to dive into this weekend.
1. “The Original Mad Man: Illustrations by Mac Conner” offers a time capsule of an era when commercial artists helped to redefine American style and culture.
Conner (born in 1913) created advertising campaigns for many products during the decade when the advertising industry was at its height and centered on Madison Avenue in New York.
His illustrations for leading women’s magazines such as Redbook and McCall’s animated a wide range of popular literature, from romantic fiction and detective stories to topics of import such as Cold War anxiety and juvenile delinquency.
The “Mad Man” installation is on display at the Delaware Art Museum, 2301 Kentmere Parkway, Wilmington from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Wednesday and Friday through Sunday; 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., Thursday. 2. The Fab Four —The Ultimate Tribute is a can’t-miss for Beatles lovers.
The Emmy award-winning Fab Four delivers an uncanny, note-for-note live rendition of Beatles’ classics such as “Can’t Buy Me Love,” “Yesterday,” “A Day In The Life,” “Twist And Shout,” “Here Comes The Sun” and “Hey Jude.”
Their stage performances include three costume changes representing every era of an ever-changing career.
This Beatles tribute has entertained audiences in countries around the world, including Japan, Australia, France, Hong Kong, The United Kingdom, Germany, Mexico and Brazil.

3. Petting Hendrix dishes up a mix of pop, dance, '80s, classic and modern rock covers that you’re not used to hearing.
The band combines the flavors of funk, punk, R&B and hard-hitting rock 'n' roll to give an interesting twist to your favorite songs.
