State troopers are investigating a tractor trailer crash that occurred south of Milford.

Troopers with the Delaware State Police are investigating a tractor trailer crash that occurred south of Milford.

Division spokesman Sgt. Richard Bratz said about 3:10 p.m., Tuesday, Aug. 22  as Donald A. Jones, 43 of Dover, was driving a 2017 Freightliner chicken truck from a private driveway crossing over Coastal Highway.

As he crossed, the tractor trailer was hit by a 2013 GMC Terrain driven by Stephanie Marvel, 43, of Sudlersville, Md., that was traveling toward the north. The SUV continued on a short distance before coming to a controlled stop. The Freightliner truck remained in the crossover lane.

Jones was seatbelted and not injured in the collision; he was cited for failure to yield the right of way.

Bratz said Marvel was wearing her seatbelt and was taken to Beebe Memorial Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Traffic on Coastal Highway in the area was affected for about two hours as the crash was investigated and cleared.
