Police search for suspect.

The Delaware State Police are investigating a home invasion that occurred in Ellendale early Friday morning.

The incident occurred around 3:30 a.m. on Friday, August 11, when troopers responded to the 13000 block of South Old State Road for a reported home invasion. The investigation revealed that an unknown subject wearing a dark-colored hooded sweatshirt knocked on the door and requested to use the phone. After being refused entry, the suspect went to another door and forced his way into the residence, displaying a knife. The suspect then directed all four occupants of the house to get down on the floor and demanded money.

Minutes later, after observing a victim on a cell phone, the suspect fled with no money or property. No one was injured in the incident.

The suspect is described as a male, between 5 feet 5 inches and 5 feet 7 inches tall and between 150 and 160 pounds. He was wearing dark clothing, including a hooded sweatshirt, black mask and dark jeans. He displayed a kitchen-style knife.
