An 81-year-old Rockville, Maryland woman was arrested in Rehoboth Beach Wednesday evening after attempting to use counterfeit tickets to access the rides at Funland.

At around 7:30 p.m., police were called to Funland for a report that a patron had provided counterfeit tickets to an employee to ride the bumper cars. The employee, who had worked at Funland for several years, recognized the tickets provided by Marilyn Hammerman as being fraudulent and immediately contacted management. Police were eventually called to the scene as Hammerman was in possession of approximately 20 fraudulent tickets.  Hammerman was arrested and charged later Wednesday evening following an investigation into the allegations.

Hammerman was charged with one count of theft of services under $1500, a misdemeanor, and released on a $100 unsecured bail.
