Immaculata University announced that Sara Pletcher, class of 2008, of Milford, will receive the Alumni Medal at the Immaculata Awards Gala on Oct. 20.

The medal is presented in recognition of the recipient’s volunteer service and support to Immaculata University.

“I am dedicated to making my hometown the best place to live, work and play,” said Pletcher, who serves as vice president of Downtown Milford Inc. She also volunteers as planning commissioner on the Planning and Zoning Board.

Pletcher also serves Immaculata University. She is a participant in campus events including Carol Night, reunion and special alumni events. Earning a Bachelor of Arts in communication in 2008, Pletcher serves on the Alumni Board of Governors and created programming that will attract young alumni. Pletcher is a member of the Heritage Society and is the alumni representative for her class.

Pletcher is the conference operations manager for Zephyr Conferences, where she organizes six conferences a year for the food and beverage industry. She is also a parishioner at St. John the Apostle in Milford.
