The clerk was not injured during the robbery

Detectives with the Delaware State Police are investigating the robbery of a Little Heaven gas station clerk.

Delaware State Police spokesman Master Cpl. Gary Fournier said the robbery took place at about 2:45 p.m., Friday, July 28, at the Shore Stop located at 7865 Bay Road.

The suspect went up to the clerk and asked to buy cigarettes. The man pulled out money to pay, but as soon as the clerk opened the register he implied he had a weapon and demanded all of the money from the till.

The clerk handed over an undisclosed amount of cash and the suspect ran away to the south.

Fournier said the clerk was not hurt during the robbery.

Police do not have any surveillance footage or a good description of the robber, he added. The only description is that he was a bearded black man who stood about 5 feet 9 inches to 5 feet 10 inches tall. He was wearing a black sweatshirt, Fournier said.

The clerk did not actually see a weapon, so it isn’t known if the robber actually was armed.
