Southern Delaware Prostate Cancer Support Group

The Southern Delaware Prostate Cancer Support Group is for any individual who has been diagnosed with prostate cancer, at any the stage of treatment or recovery. Spouses, friends and other family members are welcome to attend. The members are provided an opportunity to share their experiences with others who are facing similar challenges.

The group meets in two location sites – Milford Memorial Hospital’s Conference Room A and Kent General Hospital’s Outpatient Rehab Conference Room. Meetings are held from 7 to 8 p.m. on the third Tuesday of each month. The group meets at Kent General Hospital in odd-numbered months and at Milford Memorial Hospital on even-numbered months. The next meeting at Kent General Hospital is Nov. 18.

Bayhealth offers monthly low-cost mammograms

Bayhealth Medical Center will offer low-cost mammograms every month in Dover, Milford and Middletown.

Low-cost mammograms are offered from 1 to 3 p.m. on the third Wednesday of every month. The next screenings will be held on Nov. 19 at the following locations:

•Bayhealth Women’s Center at Kent General, 540 S. Governors Ave., Dover. 

•Bayhealth Women’s Center at Milford Memorial, 200 Kings Highway, Suite 3, Milford. 

•Middletown Medical Center

The screenings are made possible in part by a grant from the Bayhealth Foundation to address the needs of uninsured and underinsured women in lower Delaware.

Cardiovascular screening schedule

Cardiovascular screenings are available from 9 to 11 a.m. the third Wednesday of every month in Room 206 of the Grier Building at Milford Memorial Hospital. The next screening is Nov. 19.

Free screenings are offered thanks to the Chronic Disease Grant from the State of Delaware. It is important to note that participants must register in advance, be uninsured or underinsured and answer some questions to see if they qualify. In addition, appointments are required at some locations.

Diabetes support group meets

Bayhealth Medical Center offers monthly diabetes support group meetings.

At Milford Memorial Hospital, meetings are held in the Rehab Conference Room from 2 to 3 p.m. on the third Monday of every month except December. The next meeting is Nov. 17.

At Kent General Hospital, meetings are held in the Rehab Conference Room from 2 to 3 p.m. on the third Tuesday of every month. The next meeting is Nov. 18.

The group is designed to give people with diabetes an open forum for the exchange of information and support. It also provides the opportunity to generate enthusiasm and motivation.

Living with Cancer Support Group

The group meets at 7 p.m. on the third Tuesday of every month at the Milford Church of the Nazarene Chapel, across from Milford Bowling. The next meeting is Nov. 18.

Bayhealth holds Grief Support Group meetings

Bayhealth Medical Center’s Grief Support Group meets at Milford Memorial Hospital for anyone who has lost a loved one.

Milford Memorial Hospital meetings will continue to be held from 10 to 11:30 a.m. on the third Tuesday of each month in the hospital chapel. The next meeting is Nov. 18.
