Asthma camp accepting participants

Beebe Medical Center announces that space is still available at the American Lung Association’s Spacer Camp to take place July 6 to July 10 at the University of Delaware’s Virden Center in Lewes.

This unique, weeklong day camp is specifically designed to accommodate children between the ages of 7 and 11 that suffer from asthma. Beebe Medical Center is a sponsor.

Drop-off time is 7:30 a.m. each day and pick-up time is 5 p.m. For more information or to sign up a child, please contact Angela Lindale, RRT, or Lynnette Klopp, RRT, at 645-3161, or email Asthmacamp@bbmc.org.

Lindale honored with award


Angela Lindale, respiratory therapist in Beebe Medical Center’s Respiratory Department, recently was cited for her work by her peers. In addition to her hospital work, she has supported the annual summer asthma camp for children.

Acquired Infections Advisory Committee meets

The Hospital Acquired Infections Advisory Committee will be meeting from 9:30 a.m. to noon Friday, June 5, to review the Report on Hospital Acquired Infections in Delaware. The meeting will take place in the third floor conference room of the Jesse Cooper Building, 417 Federal St., Dover.

Delaware Hospice offers Living Well   


Barbara Tucker, community education coordinator for Delaware Hospice, will conduct a six-week course on issues that arise with chronic diseases. This class will meet from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Wednesdays from June 17 through July 29.

The course is offered free of charge as a community outreach of Delaware Hospice. Pre-registration is required by June 15.

Health Forum at St. Jude the Apostle Church


Delaware Hospice will hold a Health Forum from noon to 3 p.m. Thursday, June 11, at the Parish Life Center, St. Jude the Apostle Church, Lewes. Light refreshments will be provided. For more information, call Lisa Laudeman at 227-1573.

Free skin cancer screening


Beebe Medical Center will offer free skin cancer screenings from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, June 17, and Wednesday, June 24, at the Tunnell Cancer Center at the Beebe Health Campus, Route 24, Rehoboth Beach. Emergency center open


Beebe Medical Center’s Millville Emergency Center will remain open until 7 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 8.

The Millville Emerg-ency Center is located on Route 26 in Millville, adjacent to the Food Lion supermarket in Creekside Plaza.

Hours change at WalkIn Medical Care

Bayhealth Medical Center’s WalkIn Medical Care, 301 Jefferson Ave. in Milford, will change its office hours starting Monday, June 8.

WalkIn Medical Care will see patients from noon to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Occupational health services will be offered to participating employers at this location from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.

WalkIn Medical Care is Bayhealth’s walk-in treatment facility designed for patients with minor illnesses and injuries.  WalkIn Medical Care also offers physical exams for school, sports or pre-employment; drug and alcohol testing and X-ray and lab services.
