News and updates from the Milford Public Library, including the first part of this year's Music in the Park concert series, which will kick off the summer reading program on Wednesday, June 3 at 7 p.m.

The Milford Historical Society will hold its annual antiques market at Silver Hill from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, June 6, outside the Parson Thorne Mansion on N.W. Front Street.

For a $1 admission fee, attendees can browse the wares of more than a dozen antiques shops from across the peninsula or take a guided tour of the Parson Thorne Mansion, currently under restoration by the historical society. New this year will be barbecue sold on-site by Three Little Peppers Barbecue of Milford. Money from admissions goes toward the restoration effort.

On average, a human’s body temperature runs at approximately 98 degrees Fahrenheit. After going into cardiac arrest March 20, Howard King, 74, of Ellendale had his lowered to 91 F at Bayhealth-Kent General Hospital. It may be part of the reason King is now finished with rehab, has been working in the garden and has been able to fit in a few slow dances at the Harrington Moose Lodge.

The Dover Officers’ Spouses’ Club awarded $20,000 in scholarships to 14 Dover Air Force Base families at the May 12 Scholarship Ceremony held at the Dover AFB Golf Course Clubhouse.
