In their final game of the season, the Milford High School girls' basketball team jumped out to a narrow lead over the Sussex Central Golden Knights, but couldn't contain their offense though the whole game and fell, 47-39.

The Lady Bucs made just three baskets in the first quarter, but they were all three-point shots - one  from Janee Williams and two from Aaliyah Davis, including a buzzer-beater from well behind the three-point line. A strong defense held the Knights to just 12 points in that quarter to keep the game close, and then completely outdid itself as the first half wound down. They allowed just four points in the second quarter while the offense scored nine again, sending the Bucs to halftime with a two-point lead.

Unfortunately, they couldn't keep that defensive pace going in the second half. SC more than doubled its score in the third quarter while the Bucs scored another nine, giving the Knights a seven-point lead, and while the two teams were evenly matched in the fourth quarter, the Bucs couldn't make enough of a run to cut into Central's lead.

Davis led the Bucs in scoring with 16 points, closely followed by Davis at 14. Morgan Anton had five points, followed by Kaitlyn Reynolds with three and Myriah Wiley with one.

The loss gives the Lady Bucs a final record of 5-14 for the 2009-2010 season.
