Expressing a stylish sophistication from a more elegant era, Beth McDonald performs throughout the mid-Atlantic region with various formats of the New Legacy Jazz Band, providing tasteful background and featured entertainment at public and private venues such as the Avalon Theatre, Four Seasons, the Ritz-Carlton, the Princeton JazzFeast, country clubs, historical mansions, and area hotels. Beth McDonald was featured entertainment at the four-day St. Michaels Food and Wine Festival in 2007 and 2008, and has been the subject of radio interviews on WCEI’s Drake About Town and on Chestertown’s WCTR.

In “Moments Like This,” Beth pays tribute to the legendary Miss Peggy Lee, weaving many of Peggy Lee’s hit songs with stories from her life and also presenting a few contemporary and original tunes.

Beth’s first album, “Only Forever,” a collection of jazz standards and original material, was released in the fall of 2006. Beth is currently working on two new recordings, which are due for release in fall 2008. The first is an album for young children (and their parents) that includes classic love songs and lullabies along with a few of Beth’s compositions. The second album is made up of material from the Great American Songbook and a sprinkling of Beth’s original songs. More information about Beth, including a current performance schedule, may be found at www.simplybeth.biz.

Beth resides in Queen Anne’s County, Md., with her husband and two boys, ages 2 and 4.

As one of America’s premier full-time professional ensembles, The New Legacy Jazz Band (www.newlegacyjazzband.com) celebrates the music of Duke Ellington, Count Basie, Ella Fitzgerald, Nat King Cole, and Frank Sinatra, and evokes reflections of contemporary artists such as Diana Krall, Michael Buble’ and Norah Jones.
