The Milton Theatre was pleased to play host to the G. Oscar Carrington Consistory #93 Annual Gospel Plus, on Saturday, April 25.
Annual Gospel Plus featured two local church choirs this year, performing in concert with each other in this benefit event for the G. Oscar Carrington Consistory #93. The Call, a group from the Friendship United Methodist Church in Millsboro, opened the evening, performing almost an hour of contemporary gospel songs. Intermission featured an original Christian praise dance, put together by two of the younger members of the Sussex Community Gospel Mass Choir. The Sussex Community Gospel Mass Choir then finished out the evening, performing more traditional gospel selections.
Proceeds from this event went to benefit the scholarship fund of the G. Oscar Carrington Consistory #93 lodge. Attendance was so high this year that the lodge will be awarding two scholarships to outstanding young people in the community.
