  • Chick-fil-A will add another dining option along U.S. Route 113 when its newest restaurant opens in the Plaza at Milford shopping center next week.
But locals should expect some busy roadways before opening day on Sept. 10, when the restaurant will award free, one-year supplies of Chick-fil-A meals – 52 meals per person – to the first 100 adults in line.
Chick-fil-A began offering the “First 100” incentive at opening days for its new locations in 2003. And ever since, loyal customers have been showing up at the chain’s new stores hours in advance – some even camping out – to secure their spots in line.
Anyone 18 and older can begin lining up 12 hours prior to the Milford opening, said spokeswoman Tiffany Simmons.
Starting at 6 a.m. on Sept. 10, Chick-fil-A lovers will have the chance to snag a card entitling them to the coveted one-year supply of meals, the equivalent of more than $30,000 in free food.
The restaurant will open after the prizes are awarded, at about 6 p.m.
Milford’s new Chick-fil-A also will collect unused children’s books from Sept. 10 to Sept. 12 in exchange for one entrée per person. The books will used in a nearly 3 foot tall Book House, which serves as a free library exchange and will benefit the Greater Milford Boys & Girls Club.
Milford’s Chick-fil-A, which is one of 88 new locations the company planned to open in 2014, will create 80 new jobs, Morrow said.
The 4,825-square-foot standalone restaurant, built by Pennsylvania Construction Associates Inc. of Harrisburg, Pa., also will include dual drive-through lanes, seating for more than 100 customers, patio seating and indoor playground and free Wi-Fi.
“Route 113 is known to carry both daily and seasonal traffic, which combined with its solid residential base, makes for a desirable location,” Morrow said. “We look forward to serving Milford and becoming entrenched in the community.”
