  • A 22-year-old Lincoln man is facing attempted murder charges and police are searching for another suspect after a shooting on Aug. 16 left a 21-year-old man with a gunshot wound to his lower leg.
Timothy Daniels was arrested less than two hours after the shooting, when troopers found him riding a bicycle on Cubbage Pond Road, according to Delaware State Police spokesman Sgt. Paul Shavack.
Daniels tried to flee on foot but was caught by a Delaware State Police K-9. He was taken to a local hospital where he was treated for multiple bites and released in the custody of state police, Shavack said.
Police are still searching for Daniels’ cousin, 18-year-old Lincoln resident Joshua Daniels, Shavack said.
A police investigation revealed that the incident occurred shortly after midnight on Aug. 16, when the cousins arrived in a Ford Taurus at the parking lot of King’s Market, at 20639 Fleatown Road in Lincoln. The two suspects exited the vehicle and an altercation ensued between Joshua Daniels and a 21-year-old man. The altercation was broken up, and Joshua Daniels and Timothy Daniels fled in the car, Shavack said.
After leaving the scene, Joshua Daniels allegedly drove to a relative’s house and retrieved a semi-automatic handgun. Joshua Daniels drove back to the market, with Timothy Daniels in the passenger seat, and as they approached, Joshua Daniels slowed the vehicle and stopped, fired six rounds from within the car out of the front passenger window in the direction of the 21-year-old man, a 19-year-old man and a 57-year-old man who were standing in the parking lot, Shavack said.
The 21-year-old man was hit once in the lower leg. He was taken to a local hospital where he was treated and released.
The 19-year-old and the 57-year-old were uninjured.
The cousins again fled the market in the Ford Taurus, Shavack said.
Tips from the public linked the Daniels cousins to the shooting, he said.
Timothy Daniels is charged with first-degree attempted murder, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, possession of a firearm by a person prohibited after conviction of a felony, three counts of first-degree reckless endangering and first-degree conspiracy. He was arraigned and committed to the Sussex Correctional Institution on a $125,000 cash bond.
Joshua Daniels is wanted on first-degree attempted murder and related charges. Shavack  said he should be considered armed and dangerous, as the handgun has not been recovered.
The Ford Taurus used during the shooting has been recovered, Shavack said.
If Joshua Daniels is seen, Shavack said to call 911 immediately to report.
