  • A Milford man wanted on warrants from several courts, was arrested by Milford Police Friday in connection with a July incident in which he allegedly assaulted a woman driver while he was a passenger.
Daniel W. Eckstrom, 32, was arrested Aug. 1, said Milford Police Department spokesman Det. Dwight Young.
On July 6, Eckstrom was a passenger in a vehicle being driven on Del. Route 1 near the Silicato Parkway when he got into an argument with the 31-year-old woman who was driving.
Eckstrom allegedly pulled the woman’s hair, hit her in the face several times and shoved her up against the driver’s side window. The woman was able to stop the vehicle and escape, Young said, but Eckstrom caught her and began strangling her. The woman broke free and was able to call police, but not before Eckstrom fled.
The woman sustained minor injuries to her neck, face and chest, Young said.
When arrested Aug. 1, Eckstrom was in possession of a marijuana pipe and was found to be wanted out of several courts.
He was charged with strangulation and third-degree assault, and jailed at the Sussex Correctional Institution, Georgetown, in default of a $10,437.49 secured bond.
