  • Two Newark residents were arrested and charged July 16 after allegedly attempting to submit a forged prescription at a clinic in Harrington.
Rodney A. Messick, Jr., 39, and Tonia Malandruccolo, 44, were arrested after the clinic, located in the Midway Shopping Center, contacted police with a report that the two suspects were trying to submit a forget prescription to obtain medications, said Harrington Police Department spokesman Lt. Earl Brode.
A police investigation revealed that Messick and Malandruccolo changed the dates on old prescriptions, Brode said.
Both are charged with attempt to obtain a controlled substance by fraud or forgery, second-degree conspiracy and third-degree forgery.
Both suspects were arraigned and released on a $4,000 unsecured bond.
