Middletown's Post 25 defeated Milford Post 3 by the score of 10-1 Thursday night in American Legion baseball.

A young and inexperienced Milford American Legion Post 3 team fell to Middletown’s Post 25 last week by the score of 10-1.

Milford’s Curtis Reed slammed an opposite field home run in the top of the sixth inning to break up the shutout bid by a quartet of Post 25 pitchers. “This was my first homer of the season in the summer league, I thought I hit it well enough to get out and it just cleared the fence,” he said.

Middletown scored twice in the bottom of the first, one run each in the third and fourth innings, then blew the game open with a four-spot in the fifth to build an 8-0- lead. Post 25 completed the scoring with two more runs in the bottom of the sixth.

Tommy Spagnolo was the starter and was credited with the victory. Post 25 is now 11-1 on the season. Milford Post 3 is now 1-10 and will host Fox post 2 on Tuesday evening at Milford High School at 6 p.m.
