  • The 2014 Chefs Fight for Your Heart committee is looking for hometown heroes for the Nov. 8 fundraiser.
A hero is described as “someone who in the face of danger and adversity or from a position of weakness, displays courage and the will for self-sacrifice for some greater good.”
“Heroes have a lot of heart and our committee has decided that honoring heroes from across the state is a wonderful theme for this year’s event,” said Ludovic Bezy, a professional chef and co-organizer of the Chefs Fight for Your Heart fundraiser.
For the past three years, Bezy and his wife Anita have organized the annual fundraiser to benefit the American Heart Association.
Organizations and members of the public are encouraged to nominate a hero by visiting chefsfight.com or mailing a 100-word entry to Chefs Fight Committee, 1214 Voshells Mill Rd, Dover, DE 19901.
The selected heroes will be honored at the dinner, which features chefs providing heart-healthy food for the audience to sample and vote on. The event will also include costumed superheroes, give-aways, Chinese auction, live auction, mini health fair and a superhero dance-off.
The event is supported by Delaware Heart and Vascular, Harrington Raceway and Casino, the Delaware State News, local business and individuals. Sponsorships are also available.
