Milford graduate Jason Parker will play his college basketball at nearby Welsey College in Dover, starting in the 2014-15 season. Parker is a six-foot-three, 175-pound forward who will play for Wolverines head coach Jerry Kobasa, a Milford resident.

Parker averaged 21.3 points and ten rebounds per game this past season to help the Buccaneers earn a place in the DIAA State Basketball Tournament.  According to Kobasa, Parker earned All-State honors for his effort and was also named First Team All-Henlopen Conference. Parker was also being selected to play in the Best Buddies Blue/Gold All-Star basketball Game. He was an All-Conference selection on both the hardwood and the baseball diamond as a junior.

“We are extremely pleased to have a local young player like Jason in our program,” said Kobasa, “We watched him in summer leagues and during his senior year at Milford. He is a real team player, and he shows tremendous leadership on and off the basketball court.” Kobasa added he feels Parker has not yet tapped his potential as a basketball player.

Wesley College is coming off its best year in program-history with a 23-4 record, and a trip to the 2nd Round of the NCAA Tournament. The Division III Wolverines open the 2014-15 season at home against Ramapo, NJ, on November 15 at 2 pm.
