  • The Teachers Teaching Teachers (T3) Institute, organized by the Reading ASSIST Institute in Wilmington, will be heading to Milford this summer to help students and educators achieve the Common Core State Standards.
Instructors include three former teachers of the year, a member of the RODEL Early Leaning Work Group of the Vision 2015: The Next Decade project and a Reading ASSIST Institute tutor.
A majority of classes are geared toward helping teachers prepare students for the Common Core, and include instruction on note-taking strategies, SMARTBoard tips and guidance for English Language Learners to develop literacy skills through a multi-sensory approach. Other classes include instruction on working with struggling readers, signs of dyslexia and how it differs from other reading disabilities, and an in-depth session based on the phonics-based Orton-Gillingham approach to language.
Classes begin in late June and continue through mid-August, with sessions held in both Wilmington and Milford. For more information or a complete schedule, call (302) 425-4080 or visit readingassist.org and click “View Our Summer 2014 Class Schedule” on the right side of the web page.
