  • Milford police are asking for the public’s help after an attempted armed robbery occurred June 10 at the Sunoco gas station on Milford-Harrington Highway.
At about 9:15 p.m. on Monday, a 53-year-old and a 17-year-old victim were approached by an unknown white man in the parking lot of the gas station at 350 Milford-Harrington Highway. The suspect grabbed the 17-year-old and held a knife to the victim’s throat while demanding money from the 53-year-old victim, according to Milford Police Department spokesman Detective Dwight Young.
Young said the 17-year-old was knocked to the ground by the suspect when the older victim tried to intervene. The 53-year-old was also knocked to the ground by the armed suspect.
The unidentified white man then fled on foot without getting any money or property from the victims.
    Both victims refused medical treatment.
The suspect is described as being about 6-feet tall, of thick build weighing about 200 to 225 pounds and was wearing dark-colored clothing at the time of the incident.
Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to call Detective Dwight Young or Detective John Horsman at 422-8081, Delaware Crime Stoppers at (800) TIP-3333 or online at tipsubmit.com.
