  • Milford athletes gain post-season honors

  • A number of Milford athletes were honored for their hard work this spring season.

  • Milford athletes completed another successful season on their respective fields of battle. A number of Buccaneers and Coach Joe Vavala, (boys; lacrosse), were all rewarded for their hard work and dedication to their sports.
    Here a list of the post season honors reaped by the Buccaneers:
    Softball:
    Milford’s senior third baseman Kate Richard was named to the First Team All State Softball Squad
    Baseball:
    Milford’s Johnny Valdez was name as Honorable Mention as a shortstop on the All-State Baseball team.
    Boys’ Lacrosse:
    Milford boys lacrosse coach Joe Vavala was named the 2014 Henlopen South All-Conference Coach of the Year.  Also, junior attack Matt Viramontes, senior midfield  Evan Becker, junior defense Ben Mitzel  were named to the South All-Conference team, and junior Clay Stevenson was named honorable mention goal keeper
    Boys’ Tennis:
    Milford’s Colton Williamson was named first team, first singles all-Henlopen Conference
    Track & Field:
    Ryan Thomas was first team all-conference in Long Jump and Triple Jump, and the Milford boys team was the South-Division Champion.
    Davida Johnson was named second team All-Conference in the Long Jump
    Soccer:
    Freshmen Daphne Leighty and Deja Rodriguez-Santiago were named to the Southern Division First-Team all Conference squad.
    Freshman Megan Wolfe, and sophomore Morgan Vance were named to the Second Team-All-Conference , and junior Amber Bliss was named as an Honorable Mention.
