A 43-year-old Harrington man was arrested and charged after police linked him to three separate shoplifting incidents at the Milford Walmart.
On April 25, Milford police responded to Walmart for a shoplifting complaint, and arrested 43-year-old James R. Shelton, said Milford Police Department spokesman Detective Dwight Young.
A police investigation revealed that Shelton removed merchandise from the store without paying by concealing some merchandise items while paying for other items in the self checkout on March 29, April 21 and April 25, Young said.
Shelton was charged with four counts of shoplifting under $1,500 and identity theft.
Shelton was also wanted by the Seaford Police Department for similar incidents that occurred at the Seaford Walmart, as well as Justice of the Peace Court 4 and Sussex County Court of Common Pleas, Young said.
Shelton was arraigned and committed to the Sussex Correctional Institution in default of a $17,500 secured bond.
