  • A 21-year-old Georgetown woman was cited April 21 after she stopped her car on a railroad track in Lincoln, causing a collision.
According to the Delaware State Police, the accident occurred around 7 p.m. as a 2013 Mazda M3 operated by Nicole Willey was traveling eastbound on Fleatown Road in Lincoln. Police said when Willey noticed a northbound train approaching the intersection she stopped the vehicle, with the front end protruding over the tracks. Police said the train struck the front of the car before coming to a stop.
Willey suffered a minor arm injury. A passenger in her vehicle, an 8-month-old girl, was not injured. Willey was cited for stopping too close to a railway crossing, failing to have insurance identification in possession and failing to properly restrain a child.
