The Milford Police Department is looking for a Leipsic-area man, 25-year-old Richard C. Lawson III, after he failed to re-register his sex offender status.

Richard C. Lawson III, 25, is a Tier II, or medium-risk offender, and police obtained warrants for his arrest after they learned that he failed to re-register as required by law, said Milford Police Department spokesman Detective Dwight Young.
Lawson is described as a white man, 5 feet 7 inches in height, weighing 180 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. He is known to frequent the Milford, Leipsic, Dover, New Castle and Newark areas, Young said.
According to the Delaware Sex Offender Central Registry, Lawson has been a registered sex offender since 2012. He was convicted of fourth-degree rape for sexual intercourse with a victim less than 16 years of age in 2012, according to the Registry.
