  • The Chamber of Commerce for Greater Milford is hosting a mayoral forum Wednesday evening to allow local business affiliates to meet and pose questions to the three candidates running for Milford's top position.
Sponsored by the Milford Senior Center, the forum has been broadcast to chamber members only, offering an opportunity for chamber businesses, associated employees and managers to meet candidates and ask questions to help voters decide who might be the next mayor.
CCGM, a membership-based organization serving businesses in the Milford area, is not obligated to open any of its events to the public.
Angela Dorey, president of CCGM, explained that the event is targeting chamber members only because of the size of the venue and because the chamber does not want to turn anyone away, especially its own members.
“We really would like to [open the event to the public]; however, the senior center has a capacity of a little over 200 people for that room. Our membership is at 300 and we didn’t want to have to turn anyone away,” Dorey explained.
The event will be held from 6 p.m. 8 p.m. April 2 in the Crystal Room at the Milford Senior Center, located at 111 Park Ave. in Milford. For more information, call CCGM at 422-3344.
