  • A 39-year-old Rehoboth Beach man was arrested and jailed after he allegedly grabbed two women's butts and spit beer at two other people at Stone’s Bar in Harrington.
Harrington Police Department patrol officers responded to the bar on Mechanic Street around 1:20 a.m. on March 22 following a report that a fight was occurring in the bar’s parking lot, said Harrington Police Department spokesman Lt. Earl Brode.
The suspect, Shawn P. Doiron, has left the scene prior to police arrival, Brode said.
A police investigation revealed that Doiron had altercations with four patrons inside the bar. During the altercations, Doiron allegedly grabbed two women’s butts and spit beer on two other patrons, Brode said.
Officers searched the area, but were unable to locate Doiron. After obtaining his phone number, police contacted Doiron, who then turned himself in to police, Brode said.
Doiron was charged with two counts of third-degree unlawful sexual contact, two counts of offensive touching and one count of disorderly conduct.
He was committed to the Sussex Correctional Institution in default of a $1,750 secured bond.
