A 23-year-old Felton woman, identified as Tamika Brown, was arrested for shoplifting and associated charges while Harrington police search for a second suspect in a Dollar General theft.

A 23-year-old Felton woman was arrested for shoplifting and associated charges on March 16 after Harrington police responded to a complaint from a local Dollar General.

Patrol officers responded to the Dollar General in the Midway Shopping Center on Harrington after receiving a report that two women were being disorderly with a store clerk, said Harrington Police Department spokesman Lt. Earl Brode.

As police were responding, they were informed that the two suspects left the store and drove away, Brode said.

A police investigation revealed that the two women entered the store and attempted to remove items without paying for them. When confronted by employees, the suspects pushed an employee to the ground and fled, Brode said.

The investigation identified 23-year-old Tamika Brown of Felton as one of the suspects. Officers obtained warrants for her arrest and she was later taken into custody and transported to the Harrington Police Department for processing, Brode said.

Brown was charged with shoplifting under $1,500, third-degree conspiracy, offensive touching and disorderly conduct. She was arraigned and released on a $1,500 unsecured bond.

Police are still trying to identify the second suspect.
