"It’s one of DMI’s largest fundraisers," Pub Crawl Chairwoman Sara Pletcher said of Saturday’s event. "[It] helps us to host events like the Holiday Stroll."
How does the Pub Crawl work?
Event-goers will wear a Pub Crawl T-shirt, which can be purchased at a participating business; that will allow participants to receive free tastings from select breweries and wineries. Patrons in Crawl shirts are encouraged to attend each stop along the tour, where they’ll receive a checkmark on their shirt after visiting each location.
Some of the new businesses participating in this year’s event are Milford’s own Mispillion River Brewing Company and Smyrna’s Painted Stave Distillery.
Pletcher feels it’s a big deal that both businesses will make their Pub Crawl debuts, especially Mispillion River Brewing, since “Milford, [for the first time], will have its own brewery present,” she said. “We’ve [also] never had a distillery before, so I’m excited to see what they bring to the event.”
Some businesses will offer deals, including discounted drinks and food specials. And remember, patrons wearing Pub Crawl shirts will get hooked up with free beer and wine tastings. Shirts have been sold out at all of the previous Crawl events and they’re likely to do so this year. But some are still available.
Crawl shirts can be purchased at any of the following businesses: Arena’s, Dolcé Bakery, Downtown Milford, Inc., Fur Baby Boutique & Doggie Daycare, Georgia House and Mispillion River Brewing.
    Places to eat and drink
Downtown businesses participating in the Crawl include the following: Abbott’s Grill (hosting 16 Mile Brewery), Arena's, Dolcé Bakery (hosting Dogfish Head), Fur~Baby Boutique & Doggie Day Care (hosting Mispillion River Brewing and Little Posies Photography), Longshots Sports Bar and Billiards, Milford Senior Center (hosting 3rd Wave Brewing Company and Painted Stave Distillery), Milford Tavern, Park Place, and Tax Chicks (hosting Fordham & Dominion Brewing Company) and the Riverfront Theatre (hosting Fenwick Wine Cellars and Downtown Milford, Inc.).
If you really want to look extra stylish on Saturday, swing by DMI’s table at the Riverfront Theatre to receive a checkmark, then grab some St. Patrick’s Day beads, courtesy of Irish Rose.
Also, don’t forget to stop by the Mispillion River at night to see it illuminated with green lights.
