Harrington police arrested an 18-year-old Felton man, identified as Bernard W. Steininger, after the suspect allegedly damaged property at a residence in the 200 block of Delaware Avenue in November.
Harrington police arrested an 18-year-old Felton man on Feb. 16 after the suspect allegedly damaged property at a residence in the 200 block of Delaware Avenue in November.
Police originally responded to a criminal mischief complaint at the Delaware Avenue residence in November 2013 where a victim reported that an unknown suspect had damaged property inside the residence.
A police investigation identified the suspect as 18-year-old Bernard W. Steininger of Felton, who was friends with the victim’s family and had visited the residence on several occasions, said police spokesman Lt. Earl K. Brode.
After the investigation revealed that Steininger had damaged property during one of those visits, officers obtained a warrant for his arrest.
An officer observed Steininger driving a vehicle on Feb. 16, stopped him and took him into custody without incident.
Steininger was charged with one count of criminal mischief under $1,000. He was arraigned via video phone at Justice of the Peace Court 7 and released on $500 unsecured bond.
