A group of Sussex and Kent County elected officials will gather at the Milford Public Library next week for a public forum to address state and local issues.
The forum will be held from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Milford Public Library, located at 11 S.E. Front St. in Milford.
The forum will feature Sen. Gary Simpson (R-Milford), Rep. Harvey Kenton (R-Milford), Rep. Dave Wilson (R-Bridgeville), Rep. Jack Peterman (R-Milford), Sussex County Council members Joan Deaver and Sam Wilson and 4th District Levy Court Commissioner Eric Buckson to discuss possible topics including the governor’s $3.8 billion recommended budget, a proposed 10-cent gas tax and the economy.
The forum is free and open to the public to ask questions concerning federal, state and local issues.
“It gives us an opportunity as legislators to hear what’s on the mind of our constituents, what issues are most important to them,” Simpson said in a press release. “It gives us an interchange of ideas. And it’s also a great opportunity for people to hear what the legislature is doing in Dover.”
