Patrol officers stopped a vehicle on East Street in Harrington for a traffic violation, and while talking to passengers, officers smelled marijuana, said police spokesman Lt. Earl K. Brode.
Officers searched the passengers of the vehicle, and located 11.8 grams of marijuana in 39-year-old Dover resident Willie C. Major Jr.’s clothing, Brode said.
Major, who was a passenger, was taken into custody and transported to the Harrington Police Department for processing.
The driver of the vehicle was issued a traffic summons and released. The other occupants of the vehicle were not charged and released.
