A 44-year-old Magnolia man was arrested on Jan. 15 after violating a protection for abuse order.
Harrington police responded to Friendship Village Apartments around 11 p.m. Jan. 15 after receiving a report of a violation of a protection from abuse order, said police spokesman Lt. Earl K. Brode.
Responding officers confirmed that 44-year-old Steven A. Sipple, of Magnolia, had an active protection for abuse order and an active no-contact order, both prohibiting Sipple from contacting the victim. Officers observed Sipple standing outside the victim’s apartment when they arrived shortly before 11 p.m., Brode said.
Sipple observed the officers and then began to walk away and police ordered Sipple to stop. He complied and was taken into custody.
Sipple was transported to the Harrington Police Department for processing and charged with one count of criminal contempt of a domestic violence protective order.
He was arraigned at Justice of the Peace Court 7 and released after posting $1,000 cash bond.
