  • Author and educator Barbara Boroson will present an autism spectrum disorders session for parents at Milford Central Academy Feb. 13.
    The event, sponsored by the Milford School District Department of Special Education and MPAC, will be held from 5:45 p.m. until 7 p.m. at the school, located at 1021 N. Walnut St. in Milford.
    Boroson, parent of a child on the autism spectrum, has worked in the field of autism education for 20 years. She is also the author of “Autism Spectrum Disorders in the Mainstream Classroom: How to Reach and Teach Students with ASDs.”
    The session will explore the challenges of parents with children on the autism spectrum and the barriers that can obstruct effective communication between teachers and parents.
    Refreshments will also be provided. The event is free and registration is not required.
