State police are investigating the deaths of two people whose bodies were found inside a parked vehicle in Blackbird State Forest on Thursday afternoon.
The bodies of the 32-year-old male and 23-year-old female, both of Clayton, were discovered by a Blackbird State Forest employee in a campground at the Tybout Tract in the 500 block of Blackbird Forest Road about 1:10 p.m., according to Delaware State Police spokesman Sgt. Paul Shavack.
Both were pronounced dead at the scene, he said.
No foul play is suspected, following a preliminary investigation and examination of physical evidence at scene.
Police are withholding the names of the deceased until their identities have been confirmed and their families notified.
The bodies were removed from the campground taken to the state medical examiner's office, which to determine the cause and manner of death.
Detectives also are continuing their investigation, he said.
The campground, which is open to the public from sunrise to sunset, 7 days a week, was closed today while police conducted their investigation, according to an official with the Delaware Forest Services.
