  • Two Harrington men, dressed in all black with gloves and ski masks, were arrested Dec. 5 after officers located a bag with a pellet gun and burglar tools.
Harrington police stopped the two men, identified as 21-year-old Deshawn J. Benson and 21-year-old Dion C. Harris, shortly after 7 p.m. on Liberty Street in the area of Railroad Avenue. Harrington Police Department spokesman Lt. Earl Brode said that when officers stopped the two pedestrians, one of suspects was carrying a bag, which was hidden after the men were stopped by police.
Officers searched the area and located the bag, which contained a pellet gun and burglar tools, Brode said.
Benson and Harris were taken into custody and questioned at the Harrington Police Department.
During the investigation officers determined that Benson and Harris were planning to break into random residences when they were stopped by police, Brode said.
Both men were charged with possession of burglar tools, possession of a deadly weapon during the commission of a felony, carrying a concealed deadly weapon, second-degree conspiracy and pedestrian walking without a light.
Benson and Harris were arraigned via video phone at Justice of the Peace Court 2 and each were released on $12,510 unsecured bond.
