A 47-year-old Milford man was arrested by Milford Police on Oct. 28 after he allegedly forced himself into a victim's residence and attempted to choke the victim.
Officers from the Milford Police Department's Patrol Division arrested 47-year-old John J. Foraker following an incident that occurred shortly before 6 a.m. Oct. 28 when Foraker knocked on the door of a residence in the 200 block of N. Rehoboth Boulevard and yelled "state police," said Milford Police Department spokesman Cpl. Robert Masten.
When the victim answered the door, Foraker forced his way into the residence and attempted to choke the victim, but a witness arrived and interrupted the incident, Masten said.
Foraker fled the scene and was arrested in the 200 block of N.W. Front Street, Masten said.
Foraker was arraigned at Justice of the Peace Court 2 in Lewes and charged with second-degree burglary, strangulation, harassment and criminal impersonation of a police officer.
Foraker was committed to the Sussex Correctional Institution on $23,000 secured bond. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Nov. 1 at the Kent County Court of Common Pleas.
