  • The Milford Police Department and the Drug Enforcement Administration will be offering the public an opportunity to safely dispose of expired, unused or unwanted prescription medications this Saturday.
The Milford Police Department, located at 400 N.E. Front St., will accept medications from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. on Oct. 26, a service that is free to the public.
This is the seventh time in the past three years that Milford Police and the DEA have partnered to provide a service that hopes to reduce prescription drug abuse in the Milford area.
According to Milford Police Department spokesman Cpl. Robert Masten, more than 742,000 pounds of prescription drugs were turned into to more than 5,800 sites last April.
