  • A 28-year-old Milford woman, identified as Malene Fleurentus, was arrested by the Milford Police Department on Oct. 4 after allegedly physically disciplining a 5-year-old female victim and leaving visible injuries on the child's face.

  • A 28-year-old Milford woman was arrested by the Milford Police Department on Oct. 4 for allegedly injuring a 5-year-old while disciplining the child.
    The incident occurred on Oct. 2 at a residence in the 100 block of N.W. 4th Street when detectives discovered that the suspect, identified as Malene Fleurentus, physically disciplined a 5-year-old female victim for misbehaving and left highly visible injuries on the face of the victim, said Milford Police Department spokesman Det. Dwight Young.
    Police were notified when the victim arrived at a school in the Milford School District and school staff observed the injuries, Young said.
    Fleurentus was charged with third-degree child abuse and endangering the welfare of a child. Fleurentus was arraigned and released on a $1,000 unsecured bond.
