  • In recognition of National Manufacturing Day on Oct. 3, First State Manufacturing  invited Milford High School junior and senior students for a tour of the Milford facility in order to educate them on the inner workings of the manufacturing business.
In the event’s press release, Bonk highlighted that manufacturers employ 6.3 percent of Delaware’s workforce, for a total of 26,137 employees average a salary of $57,046, as of 2010.
Students had the opportunity to meet with area manufacturers and learn about the manufacturing processes of various products and applications, said Ivy Bonk, director of business and community development at First State Manufacturing. Speakers also discussed manufacturing as a career choice and how the industry incorporates developing technologies in order to achieve success in a global economy.
