  • Special waterfowl, deer hunting days for youth, disabled hunters announced

  • DNREC's Division of Fish and Wildlife has designated three Saturdays as waterfowl and deer hunting days to promote and provide additional hunting opportunities.

  • DNREC's Division of Fish and Wildlife has designated three Saturdays as waterfowl and deer hunting days to promote and provide additional hunting opportunities.
    The hunting days will be for youth hunter ages 10 to 15 and non-ambulatory disabled hunters on both public and private lands statewide.
    The following dates include:
    Oct. 5, waterfowl hunting day; Nov. 2, deer hunting day; Feb. 8, 2014, second waterfowl hunting day.
    Youth hunters must be accompanied by a licensed or exempt adult hunter age 21 or older. Youth hunters must be of sufficient physical size and strength to safely handle a firearm, and may also hunt on regular season days, accompanied by an adult. Youth hunters age 13 to 15 must have completed a hunter education course, possess a certification card and purchase a Delaware junior hunting license.
